Deformed Palate

by sfageol, Jul 17, 2009 11:16PM
Hello, I was born with a cleft lip and a closed, deformed palate. At 3 months, the lip was repaired but the palate was left alone. I never needed another surgery but after my sole doctor was in an accident and stopped practicing about two years ago.

My nephew who was just born had the same deformity in his palate and I talked to his doctor. I was told that this deformity could be the major cause in my asthma and drainage problems and that a simple surgery to fix it could make all of this go away.

Has anybody heard anything similar?
