The doctor seemed to think it was not asthma and was only anxiety. They gave me Xanax and sent me on my way. But it seems to be happening more and even when I feel relaxed, such as when I am at the gym. I am pretty fit otherwise, however I am a heavy drinker and former smoker.
I am often bloated and have regularRegular insulin indigestion...Could it be my bloated abdomen pressing against my lungs?? My symptoms are very bad after a night of drinking, which I know I should stop asap. It is very distressing when I can't get enough air, but I can get a full breath when I yawn. Sometimes when I am very bloated it feels like I could die from not getting enough air. If it is just bloating is there any real danger of suffocation??
I am a heavy drinker and former smoker and but have never experienced anything like this in my 29 years. The doctors here in Korea seem to think its all in my head, but I definitely feel like it is something physical preventing my lungs from inflating all the way. Sorry about writing so much I just want to put my mind at ease and I am in Korea where it is difficult to see an English speaking doctor.
One doctor offered a treadmill-cardio test, but said it was to put my mind at ease because she really didn't think I needed it. If the EKG was ok and the chest X-ray was ok, then am I likely going to be ok until I can get home to North America for tests??
The terrible humidity here is making things worse...Any advice, or ideas as to what this might be would be much appreciated.
