Emphysema and anemia
My mother-in-law, age 79, has recently found out she has emphysema. She also has been having a low hgb blood count. Can the two be related?

Emphysema and anemia are not related.  However both can cause a lower oxygen level in the blood and organs.  With emphysema it can be difficult for oxygen to get from the lungs into the blood.  With anemia there can be a lower hemoglobin (hgb) level in the blood.  This lowers the blood
