Dear LungLine Nurse,
Just wondering if National Jewish has any experience with or feedback on the new spacer that Pari has produced to compete with Aerochamber and others called "Vortex." The tube is made of metal, so it has no electrostatic charge & the medication is not supposed to stick to the sides of the chamber (unlike the other spacers, which are made of plastic & hold electrostatic charge).
Also curious about AeroPEP, which is an Aerochamber spacer with a "PEP" device at the end which allows the patient to exercise their breathing muscles and possibly aid in mucous clearance. Are you familiar with that PEP device and do you have any comments about whether it would be helpful for those of us with asthma, emphysema and/or other lung conditions.
Thanks.
Starion
