Fungi causing sinusitis

Has anyone here heard about studies saying that fungi (Candidas) was the cause of chronic sinusitis? I've come to my wick's end and I just cannot take this anymore. I have taken almost everything under the sun to help with this but it keeps getting worse. Antibiotics, nasal sprays, decongestion pills, allergy and sinus pills. I don't want to become dependent on this stuff! I've read only two reports on it and I want to believe them so much but there are so many crooks out there.

Thanks to all of you for your suggestions. I will certainly ask my doctor about them and follow thru. I'm sencerly sorry that you all had to suffer from this, but thank you ever so much for your help.

Hi,
I had candida running right through my body a few years ago, it caused me no end of problems.  I went to see a nutritionalist as all the tablets under the sun were only clearing it temporarily.  I had to follow the strictest diet for what seemed like years, (it was in fact only for 6 months)to weaken the candidaso that it could not fight the next stage which was to drink this disgusting liquid, dropped into water for a few more weeks which made me very irratable as it killed the candida off.  I followed it religiously as i could not put up with the Candida anymore.

I have not had even thrush since then.  It was brilliant and i would recommend everyone who suffers candida seeing a nutritionalist.

I have grown Candida in my sinuses. Have the doctors cultured your sinuses? They should if they haven't. That is how they found the fungus in mine which required antifungal therapy rather than antbiotics. Another important reason to culture you is to figure out if the antibiotics that they have been giving you were indeed the right ones if you do have bacterial sinusitis.
If they have and nothing has showed up, then you might consider having allergy testing to see if you have allergies and get the appropriate treatment.
I also am a fan of flushing of the sinuses. I would approach your doctor to see if that is an option for you.
I hope this helps..Sunny
