Gas Fumes Inhalation

i inhaled alot of gas fumes because i had a 5 gallon gas tank in my car for my lawnmower and i cranked the heat up and it heated the gas up. and i inaled all those fumes, now i have a sore throat, and a cough, and it no getting harder to breathe. whould the gas have done this and what should i do about it? what do you think it wrong?
