HOW TO PREVENT TONSIL STONES

I have had tonsil stones for a year now, caused by silent reflux ds?,or cryptic tonsil catching food & bacteria, given different reasons. I have tried everything to prevent them. Have been to two ENT'S and the only option left is removal. At my age I don't want to do that. Now I use the flashlight,Q-TIP method, which works sometimes if its in front of the tonsil. Any non-surgical remedies?

I've had the same problem for about 15 years.  I also have very enlarged tonsils to the extent that the last time I went to the dentist the assistant practically jump back and said, "Oh My God!  Are you sick right now?"  I have contemplated having my tonsils removed but have heard horror stories about the pain and possibly bleeding to death (this happened to someone that my dad knew) if you are too old.  I'm 28...are there any concerns I should know about?
