Hard mucus in nose
I have been suffering for months now with constant build up of hard mucus in my nose - it is uncomfortable and I have noticed an occasional bad smell - a bit like smelly feet! - coming from my nostrils.  This is embarrassing.  Please help.

You have either a condition called atrophic rhinitis or a chronic infection of the nose due to bacteria or fungus.  In either case, you should first do twice a day nasal washes. To get the most help from any nasal spray first do a nasal wash to remove mucus from your nose and sinuses.  Please read our nasal wash treatment information at http://www.nationaljewish.org/disease-info/treatments/alt-ther/nasal-wash.aspx to learn more about this technique.  Share this information with your doctor to see if you would benefit from this daily treatment.  If this fails to cure the problem, you should consult with an ENT specialist.
