Hard to breath

hi, I am a 46 years old woman. I have esperinence very hard breathing for about two years. my problem is that sometimes I have to breath very hard for every five minutes to suck enough air. I have seen a few doctors and have x-rays but found nothing wrong. But I am feeling so difficult to breath. Please help me. Thanks.

I would see a different MD first, you know your body best and you know if something is wrong, you need to make notes of when this is happening, what you are doing when the is bothering you and how long it last.  If you smoke or not and other family history.

You should see a pulmonologist & have pfts done. The results will clearly reveal the nature of your sob. If you have edema (swelling esp in legs) it may be cardiac related. Do you have problems with your heart? Do you take any diuretics such as lasix, hctz, etc. Do you smoke or live with a smoker?
You could ask any dr to perform a six minute walking test which monitors your oxygen level with activity. That will clearly demonstrate the severity of your sob (shortness of breath). There are so many factors to consider, you really should see a pulmonologist or cardiologist for help.
