A related discussion,
Bronchitis and weakness was started.
I know this sounds pejorative, but twice after bad bronchitis we gave up and went on a cruise. The clean salt air did it.
The first and most important thing to do is to establish the correct diagnosis. If you are currently having symptoms you should speak with the pulmonologist as soon as possible. If needed you should see one of his colleagues. You may have asthma or perhaps just bronchospasm secondary to the bronchitis. In either event you might benefit from other Advair like drugs and could get started sooner rather than later.
i have had bronchitis off and on for about a month - in my case it is just inflamation or irriation caused by coughing too much - I have had colds and have been coughing from lots of mucous from my sinuses or opast nasal area. The answer for me has been a good old cough surpressant - the doc prescribed pholcodine. it's buys me time for the poor old tissues to have a rest and recover. Once the cold and coughs went the bronchitis stopped too. I also learned to cough differently in a way taht was more gentle on my lungs - more of a throat clearing. Hope it's this simple for you.
What are your current symptoms? Whose care are you under? Does your pulmonary doc have a doc "covering" his/her practice? Most docs DO have a doc covering their practice when they're on vacation.
It is impossible to diagnose or prescribe treatment over the internet & you need to work with your docs to get the right meds for the right length of time to help you clear up your symptoms.
Good luck & persist!
