Hole in septum

After reading your site i now realise that i have a hole on the inside of my nose on the left hand side.
A the moment it isn't a problem but i do notice that i have been having alot of nose bleeds and very congested.
Should i just leave it to heal up or see my doctor ?.
When i breath, i get a whistling sounds that annoys me.
I have used for many years in the summer months a nasal spray called beaconase for hayfever.
could this have caused the problem ? do i need surgery to correct it?
what should i do in the mean time to limit any further erosion?.
I have never taken drugs at all.
I am fit and well and aged 39 years.
treatment is not very easy to get in england and I think they will not bother treating this condition.
is it a symptom of anything else i could identify with.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is possible for a nasal steroid spray, like BeconaseŽ (beclomethasone dipropionate), to create a hole in the septum of your nose. To prevent this possible side effect and limit any further erosion, direct the spray away from the center or septum of your nose.
You will need to be seen by your doctor to know if there is another reason for this hole in the septum of your nose. An ENT would be the type of specialist to find the cause and the best treatment.
