I am very confused

About 5 days ago, I started feeling like I was breathing and not getting enough air. I still have the feeling but not as bad. I dont know if I just started feeling this way or if it is normal and I just think I have it. Also, laying down can be somewhat uncomfortable. I also occasionally have piercing pains in my chest and I feel tired a lot because of the breathing. I need help, please!!

You will need to see a doctor to find out the nature of the problem that is causing your symptoms.  To know for sure if this is due to a lung problem you will need to have testing done.  A good place to start is with a chest x-ray and possibly a simple breathing test called spirometry.  Spirometry provides detailed information about how your lungs are working.  If your symptoms are due to a lung problem, this testing should identify the cause.  A pulmonologist would be the type of specialist to identify a lung problem and the best treatment.

I wanted to know if whatever is wrong with me is contagious. Ive been playing with my baby cousins a lot since it started and I dont want them to get sick too. Once again, please help.

Do I go to a normal doctor for this or do I go to a hospital? I actually havent felt much of these symptoms in the last couple of days and I haven't really thought about it that much. If the syptoms (symptoms) progress, Im going to go to a doctor.
