I hope this isn't a neusense question

by charles24, Mar 22, 2008 05:28PM
I have been an, on and off, smoker since 16. I am now 24. I have been in the Army since 18, so exercise regularly. I have quit smoking three times in my life for a duration that usually lasts about 3 months. Each time I quit smoking exercise has gotten harder. My lungs either cannot take in the amount of air I need while running or I feel as though I cannot exhale thoroughly. Each time it makes me go back to smoking. I keep telling myself it is my lungs trying to heel themselves. But, I don't know if that really makes sense. Can you help me out?

I have one more question if I may. I am trying to get into great shape so I can hopefully become an Army Ranger. I am scared of going to GNC to get an opinion on energy supplements, I can feel them trying to rip me off every time I go in there. I was wondering if I could get your expert opinion on endurance training energy supplements or vitamins. Though I maintain a very healthy diet and sleep schedule I am still getting dizzy spells during training. It would be a great help to me. Thanks a lot for your time!!
