My husband was involved in an mva. He was taken to the ED following the accident where they took x-rays. two days later a letter was generated from the ED stating that he had a "right infrahilar consolidation" and they would like to run more x-rays. I called the ED and spoke with a nurse who didn't seem to know what i was talking about, but suggested that it might be the early stages of pneumonia. I looked online to see if I could find any info, but haven't come up with anything that says pneumonia, all I could find was that lung cancer should be ruled out.
Any information you could lend would be greatly appreciated.
He is a 30 yr old male, smoker (not for long though), hit in chest and
faceFace pain by air bag during mva.
