Hello and hope you are doing well.

Basal fibrosis is fibrotic tissue at the base of the lungs. This is fibrous tissue and it could occur due to previous infections in the lungs. Hilar enlargement of nodes can be caused by chronic infections like tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, lymphormas, leukemias and due to occupational lung diseases like silicosis, asbestosis etc., these nodes enlarge due to a problem in the lymph nodes per say like lymphomas or secondary to a problem in draining area of lymph nodes.

Either of the findings may not reflect a malignancy as the lymph nodes are tiny and could have been due to the same pathology affecting the base of the lungs.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Additional info:
Thanks for the response. I had been a smoker for 30 years & had quit smoking before taking the Lung HRCT. I am not taking any medication post Smoking cessation .  Should i be taking any medication

Does the condition left basal fibrosis & Blateral tinay Hilar adenopathy go away by itself or does it worsen byitself .  should i seek any specific medication or tests to confirm the conditions you have listed above

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Why was the CT done in the first place? Do you have any symptoms of lung disease like cough or breathlessness now? What do the lung function tests show? Also, what is your present oxygen saturation level? Based on all this further work up to detect the cause and therapy can be planned. For any lung condition, cessation of smoking would be the first step to prevent damage to the lungs.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
