by gitmo, Aug 14, 2008 12:01PM
I've had pneumonia 5 times in the last 18 months.  I 69 years old and haven't smoked for 14 years.  I am overweight and have been told I have a spot on my lung.  What are the odds it cancerous.  I have a CAT scan scheduled

Hi, with these spots you never know, or the spots could be from the pneumonias that you've had or possible scars from pneumonia, as well.  Depending on what your cat scan shows, they may want to get a biopsy of whatever they find.

Don't worry, stay positive-it may be nothing.  If you were a smoker years ago, then I would definitely get a pulmonary function test because you've had an awful lot of pneumonias in a short time frame.

Good luck to you!!
