Lungs X-ray

Lungs X-ray

I quit smoking approximatly 10 years ago.  My mother and father both died from lung cancer (each which had quit smoking for 8-10 years) and my brother who never smoked had the same cancer which complicated his death as well.  I had an xray today and the note said boderline myopothy (not real sure about the second word)  I was told this just means that my xray shows I was a smoker.  For whatever reason I am not comfortable with this and would like to hear another opinion of the term.  Maybe then I will be a bit more at east.  I think the word "borderline" tends to make me nervous.

Thank you

Myopathy is not a sign of your being an ex-smoker.  The word means muscle disease.  When combined with the word cardio, it refers to disease of the heart muscle.  Your best bet would be to talk with either the radiologist or with the doctor who ordered the x-ray to find out more.
