Mucus in the throat

by skysoundlight, Aug 04, 2006 12:00AM
Has anyone ever experienced the problem of mucus coming up in the mouth when you drink anything or sneeze that has to be spit out. I have been to a gastro specialist and an ENT.  The gastro specialist says it is not coming from the stomach, and the ENT can not figure it out.  I have been using Flonase and Prevacid.  It seems to be getting a little better.  What could be causing this problem?

I would agree with the gastro (GI) specialist.  It is most likely that there is postnasal drainage that you are feeling when you eat or drink certain foods.  Controlling the drainage with the Flonase and possibly an antihistamine should help control this.
