Mycobacterium Abcessus

I have had Abcessus since 1998. Have been on all oral antibiotics plus pic line three times. My doctors are considering using Tigecycline (Tygacil) My question has anyone out there been on this med and what were your copplications.

What did you do to control the nausea? Do you have a protocol for it use.

There have been several people on Tygacil® (tigecycline) for Mycobacterium abscessus.  The biggest problems have had to do with nausea and loss of appetite.  Additionally, it must be administered via a PICC line, so there are issues regarding the infusions, line sterility, etc.
