NASTY NOSE

I have had a chest infection which has left me with very bad cattahr.  i have had antibiotics from the doctor which seems to have cleared up the infection in my chest, but for 6 weeks now i have been suffering with very thick cattahr which will not go away.  i am on tablets for my blood pressure, so cannot take any over the counter medication for the congestion.  i have been inhaling menthol cystals in hot water for a couple of weeks now, but it is still as bad now as it was at the beginning and is causing me to start coughing again especially at night.

i hope this is enough information, and i hope you can help

kind regards

It is not uncommon following a chest infection to have remaining inflammation for weeks or months. This can be manifest by increased mucus production, coughing and even wheezing. The best approach to this is to use anti-inflammatory medication, usually by inhalation for a period of time to control these symptoms. The over-the-counter remedies do not usually control these symptoms. Consult with your physician.
