Endometriosis of the lung is a condition found in women who have generally been pregnant or had pelvic surgery causing cells from the uterus to become located in the lungs by traveling through the blood stream.
Women with endometriosis of the lung will cough up blood each month at the time of their menstrual period.
This condition is identified by Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and possibly by chest X-ray.  Endometriosis of the lung can be treated with hormone pills or surgery.
