Non-stop coughing

My son is 5 years old.  When his asthma flares up, sometimes he gets a very bad cough.  It is not so deep, but it seems like he is coughing all the time.  He has his nebulizer, sinus medication spray and he drinks a lotr of liquids.  I also keep telling him to blow his nose.  I feel bad that the cough goes on all day.  The only good thing he doesn't cough when he sleeps and is able to sleep through the night.  Anything else that I can do?
