OXYGEN LEVEL DROP - SLEEP STUDY PLANNED

My boyfriend has been to Brompton today and is to go for a sleep study as his carbon dioxide level is 10.1 and oxygen level is less than 6 during the day.  He has scoliosis and it is thought he may need a ventilator.    He does also snore so not sure whether this or the scoliosis is causing the sleep problem.

Do you think a ventilator at night would be necesssary bearing in mind these readings and what type?

I look forward to your comments
