Paralyzed Left Diaphragm
I found out i had COPD back in 2002ish, and recently diagnosed with a Paralyzed Diaphragm (Left), in 2010.  I also stay short of breath and experience pain in my chest, upper, left back, and whole left side.  I can no longer sleep on my left side, and leaning back is becoming painful.  My Dr. has prescribed pain meds, but is saying i eventually need surgery.
My question is:  What am I to expect from this diagnosis, and if surgery is a fix, is there a Surgeon in the Central Texas area?
