Pharyngitis ?!? Diagnosis, advice please

I developed what I now know is pharyngitis, started having symptoms of enlarged tonsils last Tuesday. That same day I noticed white streaks and patches only on my tonsils no where else.. Made an appointment the next day and was diagnosed with viral pharyngitis.. My doctor did not prescribe me anything just said gargle really well, and take Tylenol if needed.. The symptoms subsided by Monday, but now I feel really nauseous, and been having the urge to do the number 2 a lot in the past day.. Wanted to know if this has anything to do with the pharyngitis?? Or could the infection have spreader to my esophagus and stomach ?
