My friend has had a chronic cough and a lt of congestion that does not seem to go entirely away even with antibiotic treatment. She is 63, smoker and a recent CT scan showed plaque in her lower lobe. She also has a burning sensatin pain (constant) in her lower abdomen. She recently underwent surgey for diverticulosis.
What is the possible cause of the plaque and is the burning sensation possibly related. She has been referred to a pulmonary specialist, however is unable to be seen fro about 2 weeks.
