Please help with some info

I had the flu recently and went to see the doctor. She gave me some antibiotics and anti inflamatories, cough medicine etc.
The flu has subsided now it seems but I still have this nasty flemmy cough that keeps going and going and going.
I even cough sometimes till I vommit.
I cannot really stay out of work so I need to get this cleared up as soon as possible if possible.
any information on this one for me.
