Pleural effusions, fibrosis

by pam76, Aug 30, 2009 01:25AM
My husband has scarring in his chest cavity from radiation treatments from NHL (non0hodgkins lymphoma)  Recently he had a chest a-ray, and another CT scan done because he had shortness of breath.  The CT scan showed fluid in the lungs, they called bilateral pleural effusions with more on left side, no sign of reocurring lymphoma, but fibrosis from radiation treatment from the cancer.  I'm wondering if this is the same as pulmonary fibrosis?  He's currently in teh hospital, and I'm worried sick.  Any help would be appreciated.
