Pleurisy?????

by kid10012, Jan 11, 2008 04:00PM
So I notice that all of the texts mention that Pleurisy causes sharp pain upon taking a deep breath. However they don't mention if its each deep breath or one every a couple of hours. I have no pain when sleeping or laying down nor while exercising; however, every now and again I will get a sharp pain when I take a breath. The pain is almost never in the same spot on my chest.

Any ideas?

I wonder if your pain is from intermittent muscle spasms or a condition called costochondritis. Do this when it happens again: press around the area where the pain is coming from. If it hurts when you press it, it sounds like it is muscular in nature. I have gotten these "stitches" on occassion, it does hurt to breathe deeply when they happen to me, they last for short periods of time. I definitely have tenderness in the area of the stitch (muscle spasm) when this happens.
I hope that this helps..Sunny
