Post Nasal Drip?.

A lot of times when I am sick, (usually I find it's with a sinus condition or ear infection etc) my voice can be very "whispery" during the first part of the day, then can clear completely by mid afternoon. What causes this?. Is it tied in with the illness or a seperate thing completely?.

This is a fairly common problem with people who are experiencing post nasal drainage.  This can be from an allergic or infectious condition.  The drainage comes down during the night and affects the vocal cords. Once you are up and moving about and have had some fluids, this clears up.  Please check with your doctor to see what can be done to control the drainage.
