Post Sugery

by chappie, Mar 06, 2008 05:27AM
It is 4 weeks post laproscopic hiatal hernia repair. I am slowly healing. I am noticing my breathing has become more labored then pre surgery. First thing in the morning I am finding myself short of breathe immediately after standing up. Also, I have a second floor study and find myself breathing heavy after climbing the stairs. I have begun walking and doing breathing exercises which seems to improve the process. Is there anything else I can do?

I suggest you bring this up with your doctor where he could examine you and run the appropriate tests. How long has your breathing problems been going on and are they getting worse? I have read that sometimes the hernia can come back after surgery. Other than that, I don't know...I hope that you find answers soon. Sunny

It is not getting worse. I will be seeing the Dr. this week and will let him know. This surgery and recovery is at the least challenging. Hiatal Hernia repair is not to be taken lightly by those contemplating having it.
