don't know if this is correct place...Had a cryoablation for svt , doc didn't put me on blood thinners post op, 2 and 1/2 months later I was lifting a mattress and felt somethign pull and burn in my side. woke up that night in major pain, went to dr 3 times before tehy found I had had a pulmonary Embolism. Did blood test no DVT no clotting issues. I've asked them this before havn't got a straight answer... How long after a surgery or procedure are you at risk for a PE? SHouold I have been on blood thinners following? I had a pain about one week before in place in my neck where one of the cathetors had been, it felt kind of hot and hard. COuld I have thrown a clot from listing the mattress? Even that far after the surgery? I do have a doctor but liek I said havn't gotten too mcuh info about it.
I have now taken warferin for over 6 months. I'm to take it for 12 months...

They don’t routinely anticoagulate after a catheterization/ablation procedure unless there is some predisposition to clotting or some issues related to the procedure.
