RAD - Newly Diagnosed..

by AmbLt6, Dec 02, 2008 12:36PM
Im 28 yrs old. I work full time in an ER.. and i also work on an ambulance. I thought i had a chest cold starting about 5 weeks ago.. i went to my doctor 2 weeks ago.. i started Leviquin antibiotic.. 7 days into it, i wasnt feeling any better. i went back to the doctor. he put me on prednisone, avelox and albuterol inhaler.. sunday while working in the ER, i went into respiratory distress at work (probably best place for it to of happened).. anyway. i ended up being admitted.. and diagnosed with RAD.. im on Symbicort inhaler twice a day, doxycycline twice a day, alburterol inhaler as a rescue inhaler and home nebulizer treatments every 4 hrs.. i cant go back to work for while.. nor can i get back on my ambulance any time soon.. does anyone know anything about this disease? will i outgrow it? is it something that can or will kill me? i have so many questions and no one has answered them.

Jess
