RADS cause breathing difficulties?

I have GERD and RADS. Does GERD also cause breathing difficulties? I was exposed to Sahara Winds and dust, which I didn't recognize for what it was and was outside in it for 4 hours. A few days later I had severe asthma like symptoms and burning in the lungs which is something I never had this bad before. I am taking 40 mg prednisone for 4 days but only helping a bit. Is the GERD aggravating the breathing difficulties? Thanks for any suggestions - I am on Tenerife on the CAnary Islands on vacation and have to fly back home tomorrow - don't want to have breathing problems on the plane!

HI Sunny,
thanks very much for your answer. I'm home now and going to see the doctor tomorrow.
I am still not able to breathe very well and have to go on a business trip in two days, involving a 1,5 hour flight and two days in a convention center. Is that a bad idea?

GERD can most certainly affect your asthma if it isn't under control. The reflux can get into your lungs and cause inflammation and even damage. I would talk to your doctor about your GERD if you think that is making things worse. The sands did not help you either though.
Good luck, Sunny
