Reoccuring throat infection

by twiga84, Mar 30, 2009 07:42AM
I was just wondering if anyone knew how common it is for strep b to reoccur. I had an initial throat swab taken in january which came back confirming strep b infection. i took penicillin for 10 days, felt a bit better for a week or so but then started feeling dizzy and sick again. had another throat swab done which confirmed strep b yet again so went on another 5 days of penicillin...this time the dizziness and stiff knees didn't go away completely and i've just had another swab confirm strep b today...is it common for it to stick around for this length of time even after taking penicillin? could it possibly be resistant to the penicillin? is there anything else i can do to try and make it go away or stay away after taking another course of antibiotics?

thanks.
