Right Chest Pains

by Ash11, Aug 19, 2003 12:00AM
These last couple of days I have been experiencing pains in the right of my chest. It mainly goes away at night but returns every morning! It gets worse every morning to the point where it hurt to move around or bend down! I don't know if smoking has anything to do with it because I i know its not from excerising! Someone told me that it might be lung cancer or something related to that but I read that that occurs to people between 40-75, and I am only 18! Any clues to what is going on?

You will need to see a doctor to find out the nature of the problem that is causing your pain in the right side of your chest each morning.  This could be related to your smoking or it may have nothing to do with your smoking.  To know for sure if this is due to a lung problem you will need to have testing done.  A good place to start is with a chest x-ray and possibly a simple breathing test called spirometry.  Spirometry provides detailed information about how your lungs are working.  If your symptoms are due to a lung problem, this testing should identify the cause.  A pulmonologist would be the type of specialist to identify a lung problem and the best treatment.

My friend little children past away with lung cancer and never have smoked a day in their lives. Please let go of the nicotine, you'll feel better in the end. If ya think about it, its just a habit, replace it with another habit-a better one, I did----and no I'm not a relious fanatic, just someone who's been there.         Out-ta-Love
