Scar in my lungs

It was 1990 (I was 17 years old then) when i was diagnosed with TB and got treated for 6 months.  Im now 35 years old.  With my past illness, the result is - i got scar on my lungs.  The scar on my lungs which always appear on my xray, it is a hindrance.  Because everytime i had my medical to work abroad, without second opinion, i always got a result of "not fit to work".  Yearly, i've done my sputum test, its always negative. How realiable is sputum test to test if have lungs disease?  Is scar on the lungs means I had still TB?  Thank you for your kind info and nice to hear from you soon...

Sputum exam is the definitive diagnostic exam for an active pulmonary tuberculosis.  Scar in your lungs means you had been previously ill with ptb but is now healed.  The problem with it though is, that scar could possibly be activated again if your immune system weakens.
