Shortness of Breath

I am a 51 year old female.
I teach fitness and do personal training for the past 35 years or more.
I would say I eat fairly healthy, but love my treats at night.
I get proper sleep most of the time.
I have been fairly healthy all my life.other than when I was about 5 I had pheumonia, followed by asthma attacks, and then allregies to most spring and summer nature growth.  I go for allergy shpts every week in the summer time which usually help. I am quite allergic to cats and rats and some dog hairs. an d probably more but I am not around any other animals.
My son brought a non allergetic cat  ( Korat ) into the house about a year ago and i have a small amount of reaction to it..and now he brought in 2 rats.
They are upstairs in his room and in a cage all the time.

The last few months I have been experiencing shortness of breath to the point I feel I am being suffocated.
Today I walked down the stairs and was out of breath.
I have been doing lots of sniffling and plenty of sneezing.

I am wondering if you think my reactions are to the rats?...could it be that I am not in the area with them but I still feel the remnants of them in the house?

Otherwise, I am wondering if there is something more seriously wrong with me and my respiratory system.

i appreciate any info I can get, I am in a lot of discomfort, and could really use some relief.

By the way, kinesiology is commonly proacticed in Europe where it is not considered "alternative" medicine.

My insurance paid for the visit. He was an MD on the HMO list.

A reference from me wouldn't help. This is a really big country. But a search of the internet will turn up lots of such doctors. I think they are the best-kept secret of the allergy world.

You have allergists and you have kinesiologists. The latter use a different system for curing you of allergies. It is somewhat related to Chinese medicine in that it clears "blockages." I found it to be fast and effective.

Thank you very much for responding .
I appreciate it
It is kind of relieving to know that I am not alone and it could be normal allergies.
I do have a tendency to have summer allergies but never have I had as worse case as I have had this year.
It has been non stop all summer long day and night.
To an extreme that is why I thought it was something else.
Someone told me that its because we arent killing the dandilions and weeds so we are suffering more this year than ever.

My opinion is it could be environmental allergies not the animals ..many are sick with similar symptoms, breathing difficulties, dry cough that wont go away, sore itchy eyes, head aches and limb aching. stomach issues .You can get a heavy metal toxicity test to see if you have toxins that are affecting you, also do some research on the chem trails be are being bombarded with .good luck I hop you find some relief soon .
