Should I go back to my Doctor?

Should I go back to my Doctor?

At the end of January I came down with a nasty cough. It didn't seem to be preceded by a cold but there was catarrh. After a week or so I began to have coughing fits every morning where I'd cough five or six times then retch.

I then developed bad post nasal drip to the point where I was continuously having to swallow or clear my throat.

At this point I went to my doctor and she suggested a nasal steroid spray or antibiotics suggesting that the cough was probably due to the extreme PND probably resulting from a sinus infection. I chose the spray as a first line of attack. The PND has largely gone as have the coughing fits (though I still get one or two a week). My current problem is that I get what appears to be a build up of mucus at the back of the nose and this sometimes makes me gag.

It's been two weeks since I started the spray - should I go back to the doctor or leave things for a bit longer?

It is likely that your spray has controlled some of the inflammatory symptoms, but may not have controlled the infection. It is likely that the infection will continue to give you symptoms of some kind until the infection is addressed.
