What you report, including the malodorous green/brown drainage, suggests a chronic infection of one or more of your sinuses. This could be caused by bacteria or a fungus or it could be an allergic non-infectious response to a fungus. You should have a careful, complete exam of your nose and throat, by an ENT specialist, and a CT scan of your sinuses, along with a culture of your nose and the suspect sinus. The specimen should be sent for a smear and cultured for both bacteria and fungi. If a needle aspiration is done, it should also be sent for anerobic bacterial culture.
