Sinus Odor

by Depleted Hope, Oct 02, 2007 07:44PM
I had this bad smell coming from my nose for over a year now.  I went to see a doctor and antibiotics, sprays, anhistamines don't work.  I was then referred to an ENT and she gave me sprays that also didn't work.  She looked up in my nose with a scope and she said that there was an infection and my turbinates looked a little big.  I then had a turbinate reduction surgery 3 months ago and I can breathe better but that awful smell is still there and my ENT isn't doing anything about it.  I just had a checkup and it's like she didn't care.
This is controlling my life, my junior year was ruined cause of it and now my senior year is being ruined.  It's affecting my grades and what I do.  I can't do certain stuffs because I don't want to stink up the place.  The smell is so strong that I stink up a whole room.  It's ruining my social life.  Can someone please help me??

I'm trying my best to eat healthier and I'm planning to do nasal irrigation everyday soon.  I don't know how much more of this I can take.  One year of having this ruined me...thanks for the tip Debser, i'll check that out.

i also have this terrible smell from my nose. Its really affecting my life. i've tried antibiotics, nasal steriods, nasal washes and it stil remains. its worse when i wake up and after night on the booze.. its so bad to the point that i quit my studies and spend all my time in my room. i really dont want to live with this any longer its really destroying my life. i'm only 28 and cant hang with friends cause its so humiliating..we really need specialist to really research this and find a solution because i really dont know how much longer i can handle it. does anyone else feel this low about it?? do you think it could be a liver problem??

Hey tdoll and all. I too have been struggling with this smell for about five years now and as a professional it is even more disturbing, the fact that I have to interact with so many persons on a daily basis. I have tried this thing just last night and it seems to be getting ,be somewhere. If it works spread the news pllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaassssssseeeeee. There is a plant by the name SORREL (from the hibiscus family). It has crispy red flowers that is used in many countries to make a nice drink when boiled with ginger and cooled. What i did was to crush about ten flowers, pour water on it (one glass) and let it remain for about two hours. I then dropped about two to three drops of this liquid in each nostil tilt my head backwards and snort it. I also turn my head from side to side to allow for the liquid to spread in my nasal cavity. I went to work today and the responses were not as bad as the day before. I am going to be watching this one.

Let me know if it works for you. All the best in your social life and to all of us. I so want to get my life back on track. Take care.

The sorrel flower is used readily in Jamaica. Especially in the Christmas season. Don't know if it's available in any Caribbean or Jamaican supermarket in the US. Check it out.

You can drink ONE glass of the strained sorrel preparation throughout the day. I tried it just in case the problem lies elsewhere. Don't watch the taste. To add sugar will reduce it's effectiveness. We have tried enough weird stuff before this one is no way in comparsion to some of the things we have tried so far. JUST TRY IT! ok.
