Sinus Problems

I have had sinus postnasal dripping for years complicated by seasonal allergies. Recently went to an ENT doctor who had a nasal Catscan done that showed sinus infection and put me on 3 bouts of antibiotics as well as steroids. Felt much better on the meds but now after the 3rd round of meds completed the dripping and coughing are back. The doctor said the next step might be an operation where the infected sinus material is removed and nasal passages are opened up. Also said this is an out patient procedure and there are no post complications. Question - is this a relatively simple operation with good results and no complications?

The best person to answer your question about sinus surgery really is your ENT surgeon.  These procedures are done every day, but different people react in different ways.  The most frequent complication is the infection is not cleared up and comes back.  I would talk with your surgeon about this for sure.
