Sinus infection

by Plato, Nov 03, 2001 12:00AM
I have a sinus infection.  I have had them before and wonder if there is some way that I can take care of them without going to the doctor for any oral antibiotic.  What can I do with over the counter medications?

By definition, the term "sinus infection" means that there is an organism growing in the sinus area that is producing inflammation. You can take all kinds of OTC symptom relief medications (decongestants, nasal washes etc), but the only way to get rid of an infection is with appropriate antibiotics. The decision for the right one, the duration of therapy etc should come from a physician.
