Sinus pain with negative ct?

I have this constant never ending headache that is centered pretty much directly between my eyes, or the ethmoid region.  I also think the headache is deep in my head possibly in the sphenoid region, but my sinus CT was negative/crystal clear.   Are there any possible causes to chronic sinus pain without mucus buildup...such as irritation?  when i first started having this headache I looked in my nose and it looked bloodred but now looks more pink and the pain is less intense.  It's been going on for many months now with no relief...and I've allready been worked up by a neurologist,

Any ideas?  thanks

i have an allergy to corn. One of the symptoms was really bad headaches between my eyebrows (okay centre of my monobrow). It happened for 9 straight days about an hour after eating a new breakfast cereal. When I stopped the cereal the headaches stopped. The corn gives me excess mucous from my sinuses. The pieces seem to fit together. I would certainly explore allergies especially too food. The first day I stopped having bread I imroved dramatically. Took a while to identify the 1% corn starch in the bread as the cause. I can eat bread without corn starch fine. good luck

I have a similar situation.  I have been to an ENT and had a CT of the sinuses and they came back clear.  I have searched here and other med. based web sites and as well as the suggestion of my ENT.  It seems that we will explore the allergic aspect of my ears (swollen turbinates).  I too get great relief from pressurizing my ears and letting them "pop".  My sinus headaches have driven me nuts these last 4-5 months.  My suggestion is to see if there might be an allergic cause to this- i.e. pets, mold, clothing (pillows/sheets), foods.  I am leaving no stone unturned on this aspect.  I can't expect my Doc. to figure it all out! :-)  Hope this helps.

A CT of the sinuses will show both mucus build up and thickening.  Both are possible causes of headaches related to the sinuses.  When the CT scan is normal, it is time to look for other causes of headache outside of the sinuses.  Discussing these causes with a neurologist may be the next step.

Sounds like a blocked eustacian tube to me, keep the blowing excersize you describe up on a regular basis, every 2 hours or so.

Nasal sprays, Decongestants and antihistamines may help. Consult an allergistor an ENT doctor.
