Sinusitis and antibiotics

Ok, So I have had a sinus infection since Thanksgiving.  I've have been on three antibiotics, zithromax, biaxin and levaquin.  My allergist noticed that I still have pus at the back of my nose and prescribed avelox.  I have read a lot about avelox and it sounds pretty nasty.  However, I am aware that levaquin and avelox are in the same family of drugs.  I didn't react badly to levaquin, so can I safely assume that I will not react to avelox either?  I hope that this will finally clear up the infection.  In addition to the avelox, I am on zyrtec and nasonex for sinusitis and allergies.  I also due nasal irrigation daily.

It is possible that your sinuses are blocked and these antibiotics will not get rid of the problem until the sinuses are drained.  If you do not have resolution of the problem with this new antibiotic, a CT scan of the sinuses is indicated and decisions can be made on the basis of their findings.
