Spit

HI I am a non smoker .But why I have blood in my spit?I have no chest pain,no spitting blood and no cough.Not all time it comes but some times I feel  and see blood in my spit.Is this dangerous for me or not?I am so scare so can u find my solution!!! Sagar

Hi, blood in sputum could be due to bronchitis, but also to lung neoplasm, aspergilloma, tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, coccidioidomycosis, pulmonary embolism etc.

Sometimes, mucosal injury to bronchial lining due to viral infections could also lead to blood in sputum. Please get yourself investigated ( chest X ray, sputum examination, ESR).
