Strange Symptoms from sinus infection
by tonga, Sep 14, 2004 12:00AM
Late fall 4 years in a row sinus infection is back. The strangest thing is the flushing and sweating on my face and head. It seem very much like anxiety. It seems to come in waves with little or no activity involved. Saw ENT yesterday 2 diff antibiotics and a spray. Two shots in each nostril. I am 43 years old very well adjusted and have suffered from depression and anxiety over 10 years ago and it really scares me to think that this particular symptom is unrelated to my infection. The nurse assured me that she had heard about the uneasyness and sweats with relation to the infection, the doctor was undecided. I have spoke to other with acute fall allergies and sinus infection sufferers that have had similar episodes. Please give me your opinion on this matter.

It is possible that a sinus infection can give you the flushing and sweating.  Both are related to the same process.  The blood vessels dilate and that causes the flushing, sweating, and uneasiness.  In addition, from the same process, your symptoms may be related to your nose draining.

I too have been experiencing strange symptoms.
I was confused though because I do have anxiety, and have experienced panic attacks.
I also have Pulmonary Hypertension, and 4 weeks ago went to the ER for a sinus problems which they diagnosed as sinuitus. They gave me a  5 day supply of Zithromax, and now- I am having a bowling ball head feeling, dizziness, tingly arms and legs- like they are noodles, anxiety, bad headache, coughing up funk, just a list of issues- I am going to call the doc in the morning- im sick of feeling this way.
