TESTS FOR LUNG CANCER

TESTS FOR LUNG CANCER

I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE ARE SPOTS ON MY LUNGS.  SOMEBODY SUGGESTED THAT THEY PERFORM TESTS FOR LUNG CANCER.  CAN ANY BODY TELL ME WHAT TYPE OF TESTS THAT THEY WOULD DO FOR THIS DIAGNOSIS?

If the spots were seen on a chest x-ray, a CT scan of your chest may be done to see more detail about the spots.  If you are bringing up sputum, this may be tested for infection.  It can also be tested for cancer cells.  If necessary, a procedure called a bronchoscopy may be done to look into your lungs and to take secretions and tissue for further testing.

PROBABLY BIOPSIES, AND SCOPES. TONS OF X-RAYS, AND A MRI. OR A CAT SCAN. SEE MY GRANDMOTHER HAD LUNG CANCER SO I KNOW A COUPLE OF TESTS. THERE ARE PROBABLY MORE THOUGH. HOPE EVERYTHING IS NEGATIVE.
