Thick Atelectatic bands in CT scan

I had a fever and a short breathe and I was asked by my doctor to do a CT scan on my chest and the report said that I have a thick atelectatic bands in my right lung with related subpleural nodular densities
I m a smoker and I m 31
I don't understand how did I get this   atelectasis and is it a permanent thing like a scar on the lung or can be treated? And whether it's a life risk or what?
