I requested that my tonsils be taken out and got a referal to an ENT specialist but haven't made an apointment yet. The doctor that I saw said that they would most likely deny me the request of taking my tonsils out because you have to have 4-6 positive strep tests within 6 months to a year. I'm sick of the continuous sore throats and the feeling of pop corn kernels stuck in my throat. Was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or information for me on what to do.
That said, you're the patient and you're paying the doctor to provide a service. Interview a few doctors until you find one who will do the procedure. I'm sure you'll be glad you did. If you can't find an ENT who will help you, consider going straight to a surgeon.
